Is it 2008 yet?

I know it is early, but I think we need a person to run for President who will stand up for us average Americans and who is not going to give in to corporate interests. We also need a President who will rebuild our relations with other countries. I think one such person is Sen. Russ Feingold. Check out Draft Russ!

I think Feingold would be great for 2008, but there are actually a good number of candidates this time around... it'll be interesting :)

Hey Jake,
This guy seems great except for the fact that he is already in the senate, we need new blood. I believe the #1 problem facing our nation today is lobbyists, so anyone who knows less of them is better. I know Feingold worked a lot on campaign fiance reform, but so did John McCain and I am not sure I would trust him. What about Ralph Nader, Steve Forbes, or Ross Perot, people to rich to buy. My dream ticket would be Bono (way outside of politics, and someone who cares about doing good abroad rather then making America richer) with Bill Clinton(the all-star of forgein policy), but I think that would break a couple of laws. Although with the war we will most likely vote for someone who's balls are owned by lobbyists but has some sort of "exit" plan from Iraq.

I think the U.S. needs a woman president, dude. Germany, Chile, Jamaica, and Liberia just realized it's best... this country is a little behind on that kind of progress...

Drina - I agree there are going to be a lot of different people to choose from. I think that will ultimately be good for the American people. We will hopefully have some real defined choices.
Matt - I do agree with you that lobbyists are the biggest problem, and I think its going to be a huge issue in the next election. There are so many people who are "good politicians" but who would fall into the money trap. I honestly don't know if there is anyone out there who would not fall into that money trap...Perhaps a Bill Gates, but that would bring up a whole bunch of other issues.

It would be great to have a ticket of individuals who sincerely care about our country, its people, and our role as world citizens. I don't think we can really take a ticket who will be just as decisive as this current one. Thats why I don't think Hillary should be President (or VP) she has too many enemies (not to mention how much the media would be against her, not because she is a democrat, but becuase she is a woman and a clinton).

Only time will tell, but I do hope that some strong, independent, sincere, individuals will come forth and stand out.
